In machine design process, the strength of each mechanical part is essential. If one small element of the mechanical system is damaged, the machine may not work effectively. Furthermore, the driven tools such as motor or pneumatic system have to be chosen appropriately to ensure that the system will work smoothly. Incorrect selection of driven system can completely ruin all the system.
For example, the stress analysis of one of our works, the shaft transferring station from “the Automotive Shaft Transferring Machine”. Since the station is moving at high speed, the mechanical parts have to be lightweight and strong enough for the load. With the stress analysis, we can design the factor of safety as shown in the picture. This is not only ensure the safety of the machine but also reduce the material consumption during fabrication process and optimize the driven motors leading to favorable cost reduction.
